MSA is registered with and affiliated to the Martial Arts and Games Committee of South Africa (MA&GC) (www.magcsa.co.za), the World Muay Thai Federation (WMF) (www.worldmuaythaifederation.org) and the Association Institute of Thai Martial Arts (AITMA). Its instructors are registered with the Kru Muay Thai Association (www.krumuaythai.or.th ). Kru Yai Mario Da Silva and MSA has been appointed as the South African representative of the Muay Thai Conservation Centre of South Africa, representing the Institute Conservation Centre of Thailand.

The MA&GC is the official Governing Body for Martial Arts in South Africa, as sanctioned by the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee

WMF (World Muay Thai Federation) was born in 2003 out of a Memorandum of Understanding co-signed between the International Muay Thai Federation (IMTF) and the Federation of Amateur Muay Thai in Thailand, unifying two amateur Muay Thai associations. The Thailand Association of Amateur Muay Thai joined WMF. However, later IMTF withdrew from WMF, again creating the situation of 2 amateur Muay Thai Associations in Thailand, WMF and IFMA. WMF is supported by the Olympic Committee of Thailand and approved by the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports. IFMA is supported by the World Muay Thai Council, but does not have representation from the Thailand Association of Amateur Muay Thai.

The Institute Conservation Centre of Thailand was established by the Royal Thai Government, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, and Department of Physical Education of Thailand. As the South African representative, MSA preserves, promotes, develops and supports Muay Thai while upholding it traditional cultural values and history.
